Queensland Symphony Orchestra is moving into the highly visible South Bank in Brisbane's Arts precinct in 2012!
As Queensland's largest full-time performing arts company employing 88 full-time musicians and the state's only professional symphony orchestra, QSO plays a vital role in Queensland's cultural community, giving over 100 live performances across 47 weeks each year to more than 100,000 people. Current Vacancies
PRINCIPAL FIRST VIOLIN
Position is only open to Australian citizens and permanent residents and New Zealand citizens.
Auditions to be held on Tuesday 19th June 2012. Applicants are required to be available for the whole day.
Audition Requirements
- Any Mozart Violin Concerto – 1st & 2nd movements with cadenzas (with accompanist)
- Any Romantic Violin Concerto – 1st movement (with accompanist)
- Orchestral excerpts

Operations Assistant
Do you have a background in arts management? QSO currently has an Operations Assistant opportunity available in our Orchestra Management department.
The person we are looking for will be:
- Responsible to the Orchestra Manager.
- Provide support to the Operations team with day-to-day management of orchestra activities including administrative support and assistance with off-site management of QSO performances and events.
The person we are looking for will:
- Have tertiary qualifications in a related area (preferred).
- Have knowledge and administrative abilities applicable to orchestral administration.
- Be effective working in a team environment and able to work independently.
- Be computer literate and competent with MS Office and related software.
- Be able to work outside normal business hours including weekends.

Outbound Sales Consultants

QSO is looking for part time outbound sales people to help promote upcoming performances and our 2012 season! We need experienced, friendly sales people, with a love of the performing arts and an appreciation of music to join our amazing team.
To be successful in your application you must be able to work 20 hours per week 4-8pm Tuesday to Friday for a period of at least 5 weeks commencing immediately.
Ideally you will have telephone experience with inbound or outbound sales in a highly energised environment. Also, an interest in classical music is highly desirable. In return you can expect a fantastic place to work, good pay rates and an incentive structure that rewards excellent performance.
