Piano Markus Schirmer
R. Strauss Festliches Praeludium Op.61
Mozart Symphony No.41 in C, K.551 Jupiter
Mozart Piano Concerto No 24 in C minor, K.491
Janácek Sinfonietta
Experience the exhilarating sound and visceral excitement of 9 trumpets and the enlarged Queensland Symphony Orchestra brass section under Chief Conductor, Johannes Fritzsch. Sinfonietta showcases Janácek's striking originality and dramatically rough-hewn sonorities. Mozart's later masterpieces demonstrate his genius in transcending the emotional and stylistic boundaries of the eighteenth century. His Piano Concerto in C minor K.491, one of only two in this genre in a minor key, has demonic and intense qualities which make it a favourite of pianists such as Markus Schirmer. The Jupiter symphony, Mozart's glorious symphonic swan song, revels in its power while retaining his hallmark elegance and charm.
"Markus Schirmer is so prolific, humorous and inventive that any piano is liable to marry him on the spot, if he’s not careful..."
