For this special concert, Queensland Symphony Orchestra is giving young artists the exciting opportunity to learn from and work with one of classical music’s most influential stars.
In November, QSO Artist-in-Residence Maxim Vengerov will conduct a one-off performance of Tchaikovsky’s exquisite opera Eugene Onegin, starring QSO and singers from Lisa Gasteen National Opera School.
Brimming with lush orchestral sounds, a poetic Russian libretto and monumental chorus moments, this tale of unrequited love will yank at the heartstrings.
Under the baton of Vengerov, this concert mode performance will elevate the spellbinding music and heavenly voices.
“If ever music was written with sincere passion, with love for the story and the characters in it, it is the music for Onegin.” Tchaikovsky
The Artist-in-Residence program is supported by the T & J St Baker Charitable Trust.
Proudly supported by The University of Queensland.
