Queensland Symphony Orchestra is seeking to appoint a Coordinator – Philanthropy to support the philanthropy portfolio to achieve financial goals and maintain relationships with supporters.

The position of Coordinator – Philanthropy reports to the Senior Manager – Philanthropy, and plays a central role supporting the administration of the philanthropy portfolio and coordination of development events.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate the administration of the philanthropy portfolio
  • Maintain supporter records and track supporter engagement through QSO’s Customer Relationship Management system, Tessitura
  • Provide support for research and the identification of leads for philanthropy pipelines utilising Tessitura
  • Thanking and banking - prepare donation receipts, banking documentation and associated supporter acknowledgement correspondence, in collaboration with Manager - Philanthropy
  • Manage the administration of supporter communication and marketing, in collaboration with Manager - Philanthropy
  • Manage the supporter lists online and in printed collateral
  • Deliver supporter events, including guests lists, scheduling invitations, tracking RSVPs, nametags, catering, event design and venue hire
  • Coordinate annual appeals liaising with designers, printers and mail house
  • Provide support for supporter meetings and appointments, as required
  • Provide administration assistance for Director – Development, as required

Essential Criteria

  • Attention to detail is critical
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues and all members of the organisation in the achievement of strategic objectives
  • Advanced computer literacy across a range of software packages (Microsoft Excel and Tessitura highly desired)
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and emergent situations within conflicting deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organisation and with our patrons, partners, supporters and stakeholders
  • Must have a positive outlook and enjoy working within a high-performance team 

Desirable criteria

  • Commercial business acumen and relevant experience in a business or not-for-profit environment
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Current “C” Class Driver’s License
