QSO Education

QSO has launched a new suite of innovative digital learning resources for teachers and primary students! The suite includes LMS modules, interactive 360 tours and walkthroughs and computer games! In partnership with Advance Queensland and the Frazer Family Foundation.

About the Orchestra

Orchestras sit in sections, based on types of instruments. Learn about the four main sections of a symphony orchestra, where they sit, and how their sounds are produced. This resource includes an activity and video interviews of QSO musicians from each section.

A childhood favourite, this education resource breaks down themes and instrument families while telling the story of Peter and the Wolf. This resource includes QSO's own digital concert recording. Recommended for P-Year 2.

Music has a very interesting and important place in film. This resource explores how musical mechanisms and different instruments can effectively support and enhance stories told through film. It also introduces different music related jobs in the film industry. Recommended for Years 7-12.

Composed by Benjamin Britten, this work introduces listeners the instrument families of the orchestra and then how instruments combine to create an Orchestra. Recommended for Years 7-8.
