Alfie Carslake

Born and raised in Sydney, Alfie completed his Bachelor of Music at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music under the tutelage of Leanne Sullivan. His studies subsequently led him to Germany, where he undertook a Master of Music at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg, studying with Professor Wim Van Hasselt.

Alfie has made guest appearances with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Opera Australia Orchestra, Auckland Philharmonia, Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as in Europe with the Philharmonie Baden Baden and the Aalborg Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed and toured with the Australian World Orchestra under the baton of Zubin Mehta. Additionally, Alfie regularly performs as Principal Trumpet with the Sydney-based orchestra collective Ensemble Apex.

Alfie is thrilled to be joining the QSO in 2024, and we're thrilled to have him!
