Sales and Box Office Manager

Lead the sales and box office teams in driving ticket revenue success. Work with Marketing to create sales campaigns, analyse sales data and work with your team to build ticket prices and ticketing for concerts.

The Sales and Box Office Manager leads the sales and box office teams. You contribute to the Orchestra’s ticket revenue success by developing outbound and audience expansion sales strategies, managing sales and the sales team. You will work with marketing to create sales campaigns, analyse and report on sales data and build ticket prices across the full range of products. The Manager oversees the customer journey through sales and all ticketing functions including the Orchestra’s box office function, and role models exemplary customer service practices for team members.  

About the job

Reporting to the Director - Sales and Marketing, we want you to: 

  • Manage the complete customer experience 
  • Work with the Marketing team to develop and drive sales strategies
  • Lead and manage the Box Office and Sales teams 
  • Manage ticket builds and pricing, sales budgets and forecasting, sales reporting.
  • Lead the development and activation of sales and yield management strategies (including offers) for performances
  • Act as a custodian for the Orchestra’s CRM database (Tessitura) for the Sales and Marketing team, including advising on improved ways for maximising its use

You will need

  • Tertiary qualifications in business or relevant discipline or relevant professional experience
  • Proven ability to develop successful sales plans and strategies, increase sales and analyse sales data and prepare reports and sales forecasts.
  • Experience with using a CRM to gain insights into customers, develop pricing strategies, forecast sales, track pipelines and optimise sales performance (Tessitura preferred)
  • You are courteous, patient, pleasant and helpful to both internal and external customers with the ability to resolve conflict scenarios with positive outcomes for all parties
  • Strong collaboration skills for working with colleagues within the Orchestra and external stakeholders including venues and external ticketing agencies 
  • Inspiring and collaborative leadership style that builds a cohesive and highly functioning team with high morale
  • Ability to complete corporate activities including business planning, budgeting, and performance reviews according to set timeframes
  • Effective personal organisation skills and ability to manage the output of the rostered team to meet a high degree of quality and with attention to timeframes. Ability to delegate work effectively
  • Experience in venue or ticketing management environments 
  • Experience or a strong desire to work in the Performing Arts
