Queensland Symphony Orchestra: Classics in Cairns

Queensland Symphony Orchestra is heading north with a special one-night-only performance at Cairns Performing Arts Centre, led by conductor Nathaniel Griffiths.
A handpicked ensemble of 20 musicians from Queensland Symphony Orchestra will take the stage, bringing a more intimate perspective to some of the most iconic and uplifting works in the classical repertoire. It’s a chance to hear the music with striking clarity and connection.
You’ll hear favourites like Jupiter from Holst’s The Planets, Grieg’s In The Hall of the Mountain King, and Brahms' instantly recognizable Hungarian Dance No.5.
Alongside these beloved masterworks, the program includes striking works by emerging Australian composers from QSO’s Compose program, showcasing the next generation of orchestral talent.
Whether you’re a seasoned concertgoer or discovering orchestral music for the first time, this is a rare opportunity to hear Queensland Symphony Orchestra in an intimate setting, with the exceptional acoustics of the Cairns Performing Arts Centre.
