Director - Sales & Marketing

Queensland Symphony Orchestra is seeking an inspirational Director - Sales and Marketing to increase audiences, deliver sustainable revenue growth and support QSO’s overall artistic vision and programs. With a clear focus on strategy, setting priorities and achieving goals, the ideal applicant brings positive energy and strong engagement with music and the performing arts.
The Director - Sales and Marketing is responsible for leading the sales, ticketing and marketing functions at QSO through multi-year strategies and detailed annual operational plans, to increase audiences, deliver sustainable revenue growth and support QSO’s overall artistic vision and programs.
The role leads sales, ticketing and audience engagement; brand, content and design; advertising and communications; and marketing support for all departments.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the incumbent develops and leads a highly functioning team and, as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, takes proactive responsibility for the future of QSO and orchestral music.
The Role
Reporting to the CEO and working collaboratively with our Senior Leadership Team, we want you to lead our patron journey through:
- Delivery of creative and effective marketing strategy and planning
- High value sales, ticketing and audience engagement
- Appealing brand, content and design
- High impact advertising and communications
- Effective marketing support for all our events and activities
You will need
Tertiary qualifications in Business, Marketing or relevant discipline
Demonstrated success in leading a sales, marketing, and communication function that has positively contributed to the organisation’s reputation and financial viability
Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and optimising brand strategy and executing marketing strategies that improve brand equity
Strong knowledge of digital technology, strategic marketing principles, marketing communications strategies and experience and high-level competency in data driven marketing
Demonstrated success in developing and delivering sales and marketing strategies to reach new and emerging demographic groups, resulting in broader and deeper market penetration
Substantial experience in implementing, monitoring and reporting on progress and outcomes of marketing and sales strategies
Experience, or a strong passion, to work in the Performing Arts
