Coordinator - Development (6 month contract)

If this sounds like you, then we have an exciting opportunity for you to work with us as Coordinator - Development for six months providing maternity leave relief.

Reporting to the Director - Development, you will be responsible for coordinating direct mail campaigns, processing donations, managing events, allocating complimentary tickets and assisting our Development department.

The person we are looking for will have:

• Exceptionally strong organisational skills with an ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
• Proven skills in events management
• Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with our valued patrons
• Demonstrated database management skills

Director - Artistic Planning

Have you successfully planned an annual season for an arts organisation that has delivered artistic and strategic business outcomes?  Are you an experienced negotiator who is well networked in the performing arts arena?  Are you adept at bringing all the pieces together to meet time-critical deadlines? Does the opportunity to bring your skills and expertise to Queensland’s largest performing arts company excite you?

Reporting to the Chief Executive and Music Director and leading a highly dedicated team, you will work with people who are passionate about our art form and delivering extraordinary musical experiences for our audiences.

The person we are looking for will have:

• Demonstrated success in working with a Music Director (or similar role) to develop an annual artistic program to broaden audience reach and contribute to the organisation’s sustainability
• Demonstrated experience in leading community engagement and education initiatives in an arts organisation
• An inclusive and collaborative leadership style that builds motivation and team commitment
• Strong networks in the performing arts both within Australia and internationally
• Tertiary qualifications in music or a relevant discipline

Section Principal Flute

This position is open to applicants of all nationalities.

All applicants are required to submit a recorded audition on DVD or USB flash drive, subject to QSO’s recorded audition requirements which are available on application. Recorded auditions must be received at QSO by close of business Monday 17 July 2017. Please note auditions cannot be assessed if received after that date.  All applicants will be notified of the audition outcomes after 1 August 2017.

Audition Requirements

• Mozart Concerto for Flute in G K.313 or D K.314, First and Second movements including cadenzas AND own choice movement from any Flute Concerto.  Both concertos must be performed with piano reduction
• Orchestral excerpts, to be performed solo

Orchestral excerpts will be available for applicants via download from Wednesday 22 March 2017.

QSO’s requirements for DVD or USB flash drive recorded auditions will be sent by email to all interested applicants.  Recorded auditions will be accepted on DVD or USB flash drive format only and must be received by QSO by close of business Monday 17 July 2017. 

Prior to offering a Trial Assessment period to the successful applicant, QSO may offer a “Fixed-term engagement prior to Trial Assessment”.  This will give applicants who progress to the final stages of the audition process an opportunity to perform with QSO.  Undertaking a Fixed-term engagement of this nature does not guarantee that the applicant will subsequently be offered a Trial Assessment period.  QSO reserves the right to offer more than one fixed-term engagement (or to offer no fixed-term engagements at all).

Outbound Sales Consultants

QSO is looking for part time outbound sales people to help promote upcoming performances and our concert seasons!  We need experienced, articulate, friendly lovers of the performing arts with a real passion for sales to join our successful team.

To be successful in your application you must be able to work 12-20 hours per week 4-8pm Monday to Friday commencing immediately with a six month commitment.

Ideally you will have telephone experience with inbound or outbound sales in a highly energised environment. Also, an interest in classical music is highly desirable. In return you can expect a fantastic place to work, good pay rates and an incentive structure that rewards excellent performance.
