Glasshouse Theatre, QPAC

Where music, movement, and mortality collide.

Renowned choreographer, Christian Spuck, transforms Verdi’s masterpiece into a sculpture of living art and music in Ivan Gil-Ortega’s first curated season as artistic director. Premiering as the first production in QPAC’s new Glasshouse Theatre - and marking its Queensland debut - Messa da Requiem explores the inner depths of human emotion, blurring the lines between life, loss and the mystery beyond.

From the powerful swell of more than 170 singers and musicians from Brisbane Chorale and Canticum Chamber Choir and Queensland Symphony Orchestra, to 36 Queensland Ballet artists embodying the music in movement, this unforgettable staging is both epic and intimate - transcending boundaries and merging artforms in this once‑in‑a‑generation production.
