Isaac Davis

Associate Principal Cello

Isaac Davis

Originally from Sydney, Isaac’s tertiary studies included three years at the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) under the tutelage of Howard Penny. At this institution his passion for cello grew immensely, also becoming an avid lover of chamber music.

In 2024, Isaac undertook a one-year contract as Associate Principal Cello with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra. Prior to this engagement, his orchestral experiences involved casual work with the SSO and MSO, and Principal Cello of the Australian Youth Orchestra.

Some highlights of Isaac’s career so far include winning the ANAM Concerto Competition in 2022 with a performance of Shostakovich’s first cello concerto with the TSO, and playing Elgar’s Cello Concerto with the MSO in 2023.

Aside from the cello, Isaac enjoys reading and running, but currently looking for additional hobbies and is very open to suggestions.
