James Shaw
Actor
James Shaw is a graduate of the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, with his career as an actor, writer and director taking him around Australia and the world.
His theatre credits include Wicked, (MWE/HOTA) Chicago (NAMCO), Mamma Mia (Little Star/RCCL) Rent (QPAC/Matt Ward Ent), Little Shop of Horrors (Tivoli Theatre), Cabaret (HOTA), Bare (Understudy Productions), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Harvest Rain Theatre Company), the Australian premiere of Titanic at the Theatre Royal Sydney (Seabiscuit Productions), and one of his favourite shows Jekyll and Hyde (Gold Coast Arts Centre) opposite the late Rob Guest. After returning from many years abroad, James was cast in John Frost and Opera Australia’s production of The Secret Garden.
He has toured with Nickelodeon, The Wiggles, and Smurfs Live, as well as performing at Tokyo Disney, Universal Studios Japan, The Lord Mayors Christmas Carols Brisbane River Stage, and Cunard's Queen Victoria.
James directed the record-breaking production of Mamma Mia! at the Empire Theatre Toowoomba and, earlier this year was Assistant Director on Trevor Ashley's new production of Priscilla Queen of the Desert! He is represented by T&E Management
