Curtain Call: Fauré Requiem
Looking back on a weekend of brilliance and joy.
Blog ·

Live from the Queensland Conservatorium Theatre, we explored music that is gentle, luminous, and deeply human.
Across two wonderful concerts, we explored Fauré’s most enduring and beloved work, Requiem.
Alongside Brahms’ Serenade No. 2, Katy Abbott’s Fanfare for the Melancholy, and Maria Grenfell’s Gaudete Fanfare for Brass, the program unfolded from vibrant energy into moments of quiet reflection.
Our thanks to guest soloists Stacey Alleaume and Christopher Richardson, and to Brisbane Chamber Choir and Lumens Chamber Choir. A work like Fauré’s Requiem simply isn’t possible without them, and their power and presence made the performance truly special.
Thank you to everyone who joined us. Your warmth, your applause, and your support made these performances truly special.

“This was one of my all time favourite QSO performances. I had not seen Fauré’s Requiem performed live before. Umberto Clerici and the smaller sized orchestra were superb and the large choir was beautiful.”
