Curtain Call: Up Close 1

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our first Studio Session of 2026.

Led by our incredible Concertmaster Natsuko Yoshimoto, Up Close allows audiences to feel every note in a more intimate setting.

From classics like Beethoven's Symphony No 2 and Mozart's Overture to The Magic Flute, to Arvo Pärt's Greater Antiphons for string orchestra, each piece revealed a different colour and character from within the orchestra.

To everyone who joined us, thank you. It was a pleasure to share these handpicked works with you. Your presence, focus and generous applause shape these performances as much as the music itself.

“Thoroughly enjoyable. So lovely to feel so close to the players and feel part of the orchestra. A very vibrant and colourful performance!”

“Just outstanding playing overall. Natsuko challenged the orchestra and they responded with verve and expertise. Wonderful interaction among the players…great rapport. Thank you QSO!”

“This was my favourite QSO concert for a while. I loved the program, commentary, group dynamic of the performance without conductor, and the different feel of having the orchestra stand because there was more body language expressed in the performance.”

–Concert Attendee

“The concertmaster was both entertaining and informative, the musicians seemed to be on top of their game, and the intimacy of the venue really adds to the program. Thoroughly enjoyable entertainment! Thank you, QSO.”
