Alec Berg
French Horn

Originally from Sydney, Alec Berg graduated from Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University with a Bachelor of Music, having studied under the tutelage of Peter Luff and Ysolt Clark. Winner of the 2024 Bach Stradivarius Brass Prize, he also travelled to Montreal in 2023 with the QHorns ensemble, winning 1st prize in the University Ensemble Competition at the International Horn Symposium 55.
As an orchestral musician, Alec has been a member of the Australian Youth Orchestra since 2023, and just recently travelled to Europe as a part of the flagship orchestra on their 2025 International Tour. He has also performed with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra on many occasions, with highlights being travelling to Winton and Longreach for the Festival of Outback Opera in 2024, and performing with the QSO Connect Wind Quintet.
Alec is currently in the middle of a Graduate Diploma in Performance at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music studying with Sydney Symphony Orchestra horn player Rachel Silver, but he is incredibly excited to be back in Brisbane to learn from and be a part of such an amazing community and orchestra.
