Alexander Malofeev

Alexander Malofeev was born in 2001 in Moscow, and began his studies at Gnessin Moscow Children’s School of Music with Elena Berezkin. He came to prominence after his outstanding appearance at the 8th International Tchaikovsky Competition in 2014, where he won first prize.

At the age of 15, Alexander Malofeev had already performed in Moscow’s Bolshoi Theatre, Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, Mariinsky Theatre, State Kremlin Palace, Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Philharmonie de Paris, Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, Shanghai Oriental Art Center, National Centre for the Performing Arts in China and Kaufman Music Center. He has appeared in recitals in Russia, Azerbaijan, Finland, France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Israel, China, Japan and United States.

Alexander Malofeev has appeared with numerous orchestras including Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, Orchestra Filarmonica della Scala, Russian National Orchestra, Moscow Virtuosi State Chamber Orchestra, State Symphony Orchestra Novaya Rossiya, Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra, Tatarstan National Symphony Orchestra, National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia and Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra, under the batons of conductors such as Valery Gergiev, Vladimir Spivakov, Alexander Sladkovsky, Dmitry Liss, Kazuki Yamada, Gábor Takács-Nagy and Alexander Soloviev.

Alexander Malofeev is a member of the Vladimir Spivakov Charity Foundation, New Names Foundation and M.L. Rostropovich Foundation. In July 2016, Alexander Malofeev released his debut DVD film which was recorded at the Queensland Conservatorium Theatre, Brisbane.
