Müller-Schott works with orchestras such as Berliner Philharmoniker, Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin, München, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Hamburg, Denmark and Paris, London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, Oslo Philharmonic, Tonhalle- Orchester Zürich and Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona. In North America, he performs with the New York Philharmonic, Boston Symphony Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra Washington, Cleveland Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony and the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. Further afield, he works with Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.

Müller-Schott’s 21/22 season highlights include concerts with Filarmonica della Scala, Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, Orchester der Komischen Oper Berlin, Stuttgarter Philharmoniker, Dortmunder Philharmoniker, Frankfurter Opern- und Museumsorchester, Copenhagen Philharmonic, Turku Philharmonic Orchestra, Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León, Budapest Festival Orchestra as well as further afield with Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra, Dallas Symphony Orchestra, NHK Symphony Orchestra, Singapore Symphony Orchestra, West Australian Symphony Orchestra and Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. He also looks forward to a tour to Asia with a programme including Bach Solo Suites.

Chamber music is an important part of Müller-Schott’s music making. As Co-Artistic Director of the first Vevey Spring Classic Festival 2022, he will play with his musical friends Janine Jansen, Francesco Piemontesi, Nils Mönkemeyer and Cameristi della Scala under Wilson Hermanto. Furthermore, Müller-Schott can be seen in different chamber music constellations with Aris Quartett, Nicholas Angelich, Eldbjørg Hemsing, Sebastian Knauer, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Martin Stadtfeld, Emmanuel Tjeknavorian, Simon Trpčeski, Anna Vinnitskaya in festivals including Dresdner Musikfestspiele, Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Heidelberger Frühling and venues such as Konzerthaus Berlin, Beethovenhaus Bonn, Philharmonie Essen, etc.

Recording for Orfeo, Müller-Schott’s extensive and award-winning discography includes his latest releases such as his solo cello disc #CelloUnlimited which contains works for cello solo of the 20th and 21st century, as well as the Beethoven-Jubilee-Box by Deutsche Grammophon which features his recording of the last musical ideas by Beethoven together with Daniel Hope and Friends. His new CD ‘Four Visions of France’ was published in autumn 2021, featuring concertos by Saint-Saëns, Fauré, Honegger and Lalo, recorded with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin and Alexandre Bloch.

Müller-Schott received the 2013 Aida Stucki Award and also benefited early on from sponsorship by the Anne-Sophie Mutter Foundation. Through this support he was taught privately by the late Mstislav Rostropovich for a year. Müller-Schott also studied with Walter Nothas, Heinrich Schiff and Steven Isserlis. In 1992 Müller-Schott won first prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians, Moscow.
