Meena Shamaly

Meena Shamaly is a composer, session musician, poet, lecturer, and broadcaster.

He is the host of ABC Classic’s Game Show, exploring video game music on classical radio, and he also presents live game music performances—notably Indie Symphony by Orchestra Victoria and Press Play by the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra. Meena has composed for Australian games Innchanted and Every Hue of You (with Natalie Jeffreys), the latter nominated at the 2024 APRA/AMCOS Screen Music Awards. He performs oud and vocals for fellow screen composers, such as on Christopher Tin’s Grammy-nominated Old World, Ian Livingstone and Ed Watkins’ Total War: Pharaoh, Kevin Penkin’s anime score Made in Abyss, and more. His screen compositions have also been licensed for Amazon Prime, Netflix, Dropout (formerly Collegehumor), Discovery Channel, and WWE. On the live stage, Meena regularly works in theatre, poetry, and spoken word, in productions such as the award-winning immersive production Zaffé, by Stephanie Ghajar, and the critically acclaimed play THEM, by Samah Sabawi.
