Rebecca Goobanko

Rebecca Goobanko first felt the inescapable pull of music when she witnessed her parents performing in Les Misérables at just 5 years old. Singing and harmonising with her 4 brothers further fanned the flame into a keen passion for Classical Music and an exciting career as an operatic Soprano.
Rebecca is now a Bachelor of Music and Performance Honours candidate at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University (QCGU) under the tutelage of Dr. Margaret Schindler. Winner of the 2023 Margaret Nixon Prize for Voice and Piano, Rebecca has performed extensively in the QCGU opera program, debuting as Amorè in Orpheus in the Underworld (Offenbach), and on to understudy in the Puccini double-bill directed by Lindy Hume, as Nella in Gianni Schicchi and Suor Genovieffa in Suor Angelica. In 2024, Rebecca was selected to participate in the Queensland Art Song Festival. She begins her professional debut in 2025 as an artist in Voxalis Studio Sessions and A Woman's Love and Life. In her free time, you can find Rebecca exploring and picnicking the many beautiful hikes of Southeast Queensland.
