Sola Hughes

Sola Hughes is a violinist, recently graduated from the Australian National Academy of Music where she was under the tutelage of Zoe Black and Adam Chalabi. She is most passionate about ecology and community and using music as a way to inspire optimistic action. Previously, she has trained in classical music and recently played with the Australian World Orchestra. In 2025 she was involved in experimental projects such as a 30 minute structured improvisation for STASIS (a mutual aid gathering for Palestine and First Nations communities) and Sounding Together (an improvisation workshop with ToneList). She is very excited and grateful to learn from and play with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra as an academist in 2026.
