Raised in a musical family, Eliza Scott began her violin studies under the watchful eye of her Aunty at the age of three.
Many Suzuki Summer Camps and Australian Youth Orchestra programs later, Eliza pursued her undergraduate degree in Violin Performance with Michele Walsh at the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University. In 2017 she gave the occasional address at her graduation ceremony where she received First Class Honours and the University Medal.
In 2020 Eliza was awarded a Masters of Performance from the Royal College of Music in London, where her studies were supported by the Australian Government through the Australia Council for the Arts. Highlights of Eliza's time in London included recording at Abbey Road Studios, performing for the Prince of Wales (now King Charles III) at Windsor Castle, teaching Princess Charlotte about the violin at her Nursery, and performing at Australia House.
Eliza is a passionate orchestral musician, having appeared with the Sydney, Melbourne, and Tasmanian Symphony Orchestras, and was the Principal Second Violin of the Australian Youth Orchestra in 2018 and 2019. Alongside her orchestral career, she is a dedicated educator, having taught at the New England Conservatorium of Music in Armidale for two years. During her tenure there, Eliza performed as a soloist with both the Armidale Symphony Orchestra and the Errol Russell Sinfonia and participated in various chamber music concerts across the region.
Eliza's long-standing relationship with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra began in 2016 with an internship under the mentorship of Rebecca Seymour. She is over the moon to have won a position with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra in 2024 and is thrilled to be a member of the QSO family.
