Eric Kim

Eric started playing violin at the age of 5, since then he competed in many local Eisteddfods such as the Redlands competition, Australian string Association Queensland and Brisbane Eisteddfod. He is currently learning with Natsuko Yosimato. Eric completed his Amus with distinction in 2021 and his Lmus in 2022. He plays in a string quartet, string quintet and a string sextet as part of the UQ Chamber music program, and previously as a string quartet and quintet, were finalists of the 2022 and 2024 Musical Viva’s Strike A Chord national chamber music competition. Further, he has won the young instrumentalist prize in 2024. Eric has also been involved in the QYS international tour, playing in world famous venues such as the Musikverein. To add, he was part of the 2023 and 2024 National Music Camp at Australian Youth Orchestra, and also was part of the Autumn and Winter season in 2024, under the baton of Alexandre Bloch and Nicholas Carter.
